Weekend update
In a nutshell: it was a lot of volleyball.
On Saturday morning, I was super lucky to try sitting volleyball for the very first time with a member of the USWNT. Basically, I invited myself after a friend told me he’d be helping her practice, and it turned out to be a lot of fun. A couple friends also joined me, and it was great to all play together for the first time.
It was raining the whole day, so I just continued doing indoor activities – rock climbing at Planet Granite in the afternoon, and open gym volleyball in the evening.
On Sunday afternoon I went to watch the Santa Clara University men’s club volleyball team play Cal Poly with a friend, and since it wasn’t raining I suggested that we check out Sports Page afterwards (there’s a sand volleyball court there). I figured, even if nobody could make it at least I could get some practice in.
Coincidentally, though, 3 people showed up looking to play, and we got some really fun games in. One of them is even friends with with Tri Bourne (she went to high school with him).
All in all, a great weekend despite the rain (although yes we need it blah blah blah).
I recall Nahm in Bangkok (your rec.) a great value. Delicious and memorable, but not life changing. But I doubt…
