Dilemma # 1
I was reminded last month that one of the first posts on this blog laid out two dilemmas I am frequently faced with in life:
- Where should I eat today?
- Which cake should I get?
In that post I addressed dilemma #2, and listed my recommendations on the best cakes in the area.
Today I want to tackle dilemma #1 by way of a positive Yelp review I wrote a couple months ago (yes, I do write those!).
First, though, I want to acknowledge that this whole “what shall I eat today” business has become more relevant than ever in these pandemic times. Like everyone else, I spend way more time buying groceries, cooking, and cleaning than I ever have before. Some days and even weekends it feels like that’s all I do. Of course, I am also doing my part to keep my favorite local restaurants in business, especially when work gets busy.
It’s against this backdrop that I want to sing the praises of O2 Valley, a Taiwanese bento place that’s arguably my best quarantine discovery last year. (And by discovery, I mean it’s a recommendation from my friend Karen that I’m now passing off as my own.)
There’s nothing much to say, really, other than it’s delicious, THE VALUE, and has generously sized portions. I’m a bit partial since I was born in Taiwan and it tastes like home, but I think I’ve introduced it to enough people to say that if you have good taste, you’ll like it.
On top of that, it’s super easy and fast to order online (pickup usually in 15 minutes), and they have good bubble tea options as well.
So…what are you waiting for?
I recall Nahm in Bangkok (your rec.) a great value. Delicious and memorable, but not life changing. But I doubt…
