random life update #3
Apologies to those of you who thought I was in Paris based on my last blog post…I’m actually leaving this week and am frantically trying to get as much work done as I can beforehand. Hence, writing this blog post…yay procrastination.
As I’ve said before…discipline is hard. Maybe that’s why I signed up to run a 5K last weekend when a coworker mentioned it a few months ago. I really don’t like running but figured it’d be a fun way to connect with coworkers outside of work. Plus, it forced me to go on some short runs before the race, and exercise is always good even if it’s not what I prefer to do.
I almost decided to skip the race because of the air quality from the wildfires, but thankfully it cleared up in time, and we were treated to a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge as we ran along the water by Crissy Field. Afterwards we all went to my coworker Max’s house to enjoy take-out dim sum. Not gonna lie, I may or may not have eaten in calories what I burned on the 5K before even going to Max’s house.
There’s something really cool about running a race together with people you know…I still don’t like running, but I’d be down to participate in more 5K’s if other people are interested in running one.
Back to Paris — I am still excited about the trip and can’t wait to go. I’m thinking that I’ll try to post some updates while I’m there so I can share all the delicious things I’m eating. If anybody has any recs feel free to send them my way!
I recall Nahm in Bangkok (your rec.) a great value. Delicious and memorable, but not life changing. But I doubt…
