Day 1 in the books!
I must have thought it was Christmas morning, because I slept at 10:30 pm last night and got up a few times before my alarm clock woke me up just after 5 am.
There was a regular Crossfit class at 6 am, so there were other Crossfitters there warming up. Maybe it was just an early morning thing, but the first thing I noticed was that people weren’t very friendly. Plus there were no instructions on the board about where to gather for the on-ramp course…I think they could probably do a better job of welcoming people.
I was praying that we wouldn’t do squats today since I was still regaining the use of my legs from Buddy Saturday, but no such luck. Thankfully it wasn’t too bad since most of the on-ramp class was spent in instruction. I also surprised myself by actually being able to do squats when I thought I couldn’t.
We finished with a 7-minute circuit of 5 burpees, 7 wall balls, 9 sit-ups, and a 100m run…I was relieved since it was a lot easier than Saturday. Whenever I do a Crossfit circuit with other people, though, I have one thought in my mind: don’t be last. Amazingly, I was the fastest in our class of 5 people…I should savor this since I know this would never happen in a regular Crossfit class (in fact I’m pretty sure I’d be the slowest).
The rest of the day felt great, and I’m actually excited for class tomorrow. We’ll see how long this lasts…
I recall Nahm in Bangkok (your rec.) a great value. Delicious and memorable, but not life changing. But I doubt…
