What I learned in LA
This past weekend I went to LA to see the AVP Huntington Beach Championships (which deserves a post all by itself, so stay tuned), and I realized that I am still very unfamiliar with LA. Here are some things I learned from my short stay:
- Orange County is south of LA.
- Driving from Irvine to Simi Valley at 4 pm on a weekday is a bad idea (and will take close to 3 hours).
- Orange County has no good food.
- People in Irvine have nothing better to do than going to 85 degrees bakery and the Diamond Jamboree plaza (see previous point). I went on both Saturday and Sunday night and couldn’t find parking, so I had to leave.
- The Valley is east of LA, and where all the good Asian eats are.
- I must stay in the Valley the next time I visit.
I recall Nahm in Bangkok (your rec.) a great value. Delicious and memorable, but not life changing. But I doubt…
