I love San Francisco (in early October)
Winter has officially started in the bay area (i.e., it began raining today). It’s a bit depressing, but I can be grateful that I’m not living in Seattle or any other place where it rains more than 10 days a year.
I’m also grateful that I got to experience the glorious San Francisco weather in early October. Two weekends ago I biked across the Golden Gate Bridge with a few friends, and it was beautiful. It was our third annual bike ride across the bridge, and I hope we continue the tradition for many years to come.
We started off at the Caltrain station by AT&T Park, took a break at the Ferry Building, and continued on across the bridge into Sausalito, where we stopped for lunch. After that it was a leisurely 12-mile ride into Tiburon, where we took the ferry back to Pier 41. I had such a great time that I wanted to do the ride again this past weekend.
It was also a great time to test out the panorama feature of my brand new iPhone 5 (you can do the same thing on the 4S in iOS 6). It was incredibly easy to use, and hopefully the photos speak for themselves. If you look closely at the Golden Gate Bridge in the above photo, though, you’ll notice that the stitching is a little off – but I’m sure it was my shaky hand at fault.
Lastly, I have to rave about the dark chocolate almond brittle I bought at the Ferry Building. I had discovered it on one of the previous bike trips, and I’m quite sad I only bought 8 oz. It is dangerously addictive, and I am planning a trip into the city just so I can buy more (and also check out the newly opened Uniqlo).
I recall Nahm in Bangkok (your rec.) a great value. Delicious and memorable, but not life changing. But I doubt…
